New regular NRG feature in Everyone magazine

The group met with members of the Communicatons department at MHP recently and arranged for a regular feature to be included in all future publications of Everyone in order to better promote the valuable work they are involved in. They will also be writing a blog on the member organisation websites.

Recruitment of 3 new NRG members

At a recent meeting, 9 members of the current group elected to stay on for another term, and it was decided that there will be interviews in November for another 3 posts. More details to follow regarding the recruitment process.

 

Tenant Services Authority Local Standards

The TSA has received 500 consultation repsonses on its new regulatory framework. .From April 1, the TSA becomes the first housing regulator to govern both housing associations and councils, and is recommending more co-regulation and the development of local standards. MHP Resident Involvement Impact Assessment 2008/2009

MHP's Impact Assessment sets out MHP's aims and objectives for Resident Involvement at the beginning of the year and sets out what was has been achieved. (1 April to 30 March) All member organisations also have their own versions. The 2009/10 version will be available shortly.

Fix My Street website

Fix My Street is a nationwide site for reporting neighbourhood problems such as streetlamps not working, fly-tipping and pot holes in your local area. These issues are then reported to the relevant authority or council. The site claims to have been responsible for the 'fixing' of over 1,000 problems in September.

NRG development training

The NRG have completed the second year of their development training with Engage Associates. This training was devised by the group, building on last year's work, and also included reviewing their Terms of Reference and key documents: the Constitution, Code of Conduct and Diversity and Equality statement. The group will now decide on the content of their third year of training and how the new members will be included in this..
